Quotes: on faith

Faith is simply taking God at His word without reservation. It’s the acceptance of God’s “facts” in spite of what we see with our eyes, our present circumstances, or our past experience. Faith is a lifestyle and mindset that lives from heaven to earth.

Here are some quotes on faith that I trust will encourage you to believe for greater things in God.

“Faith is spelled “R-I-S-K” John Wimber

“Feed your faith and starve your doubts.” Lester Sumrall

“God’s promises, not our circumstance, are our evidence for what is really true.” Steve Backlund

“I am not moved by what I see. I am not moved by what I feel. I am moved only by what I believe.” Smith Wigglesworth

“Everything we see is a shadow cast by that which we do not see.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Faith begins where the will of God is known.” Kenneth Hagin, Sr.

“The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith, and the beginning of true faith is the end of anxiety.” George Mueller

“Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.” Andrew Murray

“Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God whose ways you may not understand at the time.” Oswald Chambers

“A little faith will bring your soul to heaven, but a lot of faith will bring heaven to your soul.” Dwight L. Moody

“Faith talks in the language of God. Doubt talks in the language of man.” E.W. Kenyon

“The effectiveness of our faith is directly proportional to our acknowledgment of the good things that are in us, in Christ Jesus. Philemon 1:6” Andrew Wommack

“Faith is the key to discovering  the superior nature of the invisible realm…Faith has its  anchor in the unseen realm. Faith actualizes what it realizes…unbelief is anchored in what is visible or reasonable apart from God. It honors the natural world as superior to the invisible. Unbelief is faith in the inferior.” Bill Johnson

“Faith clamps down the teeth of God’s Word on the seat of the enemy’s pants and hangs on until Satan quits.” Marilyn Hickey

“Whatever contradicts the truth of God’s Word we are to take as the devil’s lie, not because it may not be in itself a very real fact to our senses, but because God has stated a greater fact before which all others must yield.” Watchman Nee

“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” Rom. 1:17

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Cor.5:7

“Now faith means putting our full confidence in the things we hope for, it means being certain of things we cannot see. It was this kind of faith that won their reputation for the saints of old. And it is after all only by faith that our minds accept as fact that the whole scheme of time and space was created by God’s command—that the world which we can see has come into being through principles which are invisible.” Heb. 11:1-3 (J.B. Phillips)

“Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.” (Matt.8:13)

“With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt.19:26)

“Fear looks, faith jumps” Smith Wigglesworth

Chewy! Need to read that one with a fork in hand. 🙂

Good stuff! I love the Oswald Chambers quote…confidence in God’s character (just wrote about that). Thanks for sharing these.

Yes, that’s a great insight. And it’s true, if we trust God’s character we will have confidence in what He tells us we can do before we see any evidence. I’ll have to check out what you wrote on it. Thanks.

  3. Love these quotes. My favorite is Hebrews, but Marilyn Hickey’s quote made me laugh out loud! Thank you for starting my day out with a full heart. Here’s another: “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” Martin Luther King Jr.
