Good Good Father | Housefires

housefires-599x600I want to make you aware of a musical group that’s a good example of the new songs being released on the earth birthed from the Father’s heart. This group is called Housefires. This video is from their second album, Housefires II.

I don’t know a lot about them other than what I can gather from various sources. They are based out of Atlanta. This is what they say about themselves on their YouTube channel, “Housefires believes in partnering with God to create artistic expressions of love, worship, and freedom that authentically connects people to God and his rich Kingdom.” Sounds good to me!

Housefires is led by Matt Reynolds and Pat Barrett. According to a podcast interview on David Santistevan’s blog for worship leaders, Matt is the lead pastor of Grace Midtown and lead visionary for Housefires Music. Pat is the lead singer & songwriter. You can catch that interview with them here

Most importantly, their music really catches the sound of the raw passion and Kingdom vision of those whose hearts are captured by the Father’s love. For that reason, their music belongs on this blog! 🙂

Their music is not the pablum of victim Christianity, sung by spiritual orphans who hope God will show up one day and rescue them. No, this is the glorious sound of fully affirmed sons and daughters who know who they are in their Father’s embrace.

I have included a video of a favorite of mine from this album called, Good Good Father. I hope you are blessed by their music. Let’s make this declaration of reciprocating love together, You’re a good, good Father! It’s who You are…I am loved by You, that’s who I am!

Good Good Father
By Pat Barrett and Tony Brown

I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think you’re like
but I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
You tell me that you’re pleased and that I’m never alone

You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
and I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

I’ve seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we’re all searching for answers only you provide
Because you know just what we need before we say a word

Love so undeniable I can hardly speak
Peace so Unexplainable I can hardly think
As you call me deeper still
as you call me deeper still
as you call me deeper still
into love love love

You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us

About Mel Wild

God's favorite (and so are you), a son and a father, happily married to the same beautiful woman for 42 years. We have three incredible adult children. My passion is pursuing the Father's heart in Christ and giving it away to others. My favorite pastime is being iconoclastic and trailblazing the depths of God's grace. I'm also senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in Wisconsin.

A great song from Housefires II: “This Love” I got a revelation, envisioning Adam, before the Fall, daily in the garden with the Father. Christ, through the Holy Spirit, and with the love of the Father enables us to experience this essence of relationship in our redemption today. Love it!
