You can be pretty certain that whatever the woke left is accusing you of, they’re doing that very thing. AlfonZo Rachel makes this important point, and that we shouldn’t give them a pass on this. He was recently on Bablyon Bee’s weekly podcast saying that conservatives constantly shoot themselves in the foot by letting the hypocritical left go free on their own long history of racism.
AlfonZo Rachel (goes by “Zo”), of Bronze Serpent Media, says that the biggest problem with modern conservatives is that they engage in self-sabotage.
By the way, if you haven’t heard of Zo, you really need to check him out by clicking on link above. He says the biggest weapon that the illiberal left have is the race narrative, and they’re using it to bludgeon conservatives while they get a pass on their own sins.
“An example of what it looks like when conservatives sabotage themselves is, when it come to that narrative and they’re throwing the accusation of systemic racism, white privilege, white supremacy…the defensive response of republican voters in general is that there’s no systemic racism, there’s no white supremacy, there’s no white privilege. Well, the dude in the White House right now is a total example of white privilege…and he’s everything the liberals are supposed to hate. He’s a privileged white old guy, right?”
He goes on to say…
“You see, when conservatives say there’s none of those things, they just wipe the democrat slate clean, and they got nothing to beat them with. Remember, that’s their “death star.” That’s the thing they’re beating America over the head with…. Don’t give the democrats a pass on it. If conservatives deny that there’s white privilege, well, that is the apartheid history of the Democratic Party. That’s who they are, and if you say there’s no white privilege, you just wiped their slate clean.”
AlfonZo Rachel is making a critical point here that we should not miss.
He says the democrats have been able to effectively use our denial of their long history of racism to make republicans out to be the bad guy. It’s their “death star,” as he puts it, and instead of denying their accusation, we should use it against them, because when we look at the Democrat Party, and leftist in particular, we see a long history of racism and authoritarian repression. You can watch the rest of Zo’s comments here.
Carol Swain, professor of political science and law at Vanderbilt University, shares the following in the video clip, “The inconvenient Truth About the Democratic Party“:
“Since its founding in 1829, the Democratic Party has fought against every major civil rights initiative and has a long history of discrimination.”
She reminds us that it was the Democratic Party that…
- Defended slavery
- Started the Civil War
- Opposed Reconstruction
- Founded the Ku Klux Klan
- Imposed segregation
- Perpetrated lynchings
- Fought against the Civil Rights Acts of the 1950s and 1960s.
Professor Swain goes on to say that the Republican Party was founded in 1854 as an anti-slavery party. Conservatives have consistently fought against the democrat slavery policies, like Dred Scott (slaves aren’t citizens, they’re property) and, later, Jim Crow segregation.
She goes on to say the Democratic Party re-established white supremacy in the 20th century with “Black Codes,” creating laws that restricted the ability of blacks to own property and run businesses. And they imposed poll taxes and literacy tests, used to subvert black citizen’s right to vote.
And how was all of this enforced? By terror. (Sound familiar?)
The left usually pushs back on this by insisting that the racists switched parties. But this is simply not true, just another deflection tactic of the left. The story of the two parties switching identities (called “The Southern Strategy,” invented by the leftist academics and journalists in the 1970s) is a myth. In fact, it’s three myths wrapped into one false narrative. Carol Swain debunks these myths in the following video clip.
The truth is, of the 21 Democratic Senators who opposed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, just one became a Republican afterward. Republicans didn’t even hold a majority of Southern congressional seats until 1994.
And it’s not like the left has changed since then. Arguably, the most illiberal and racist policy ever devised by the left comes from the race grifters who promote Critical Race Theory (CRT). CRT is a totally racist invention of the neo-Marxist academics, basing moral virtue on the color of skin you were born with rather than the content of your character.
Again, the left gets a pass because instead of pushing these inconvenient facts back in their face, conservatives attempt to deny that there is systemic racism and white supremacy at all. They do so because they themselves probably aren’t racist.
But, actually, there is systemic racism…and it’s mostly coming from the left!
Derryck Green of Project 21 calls out these hypcritical accusations of the left in the following video clip.
AlfonZo Rachel also says that many black Americans have traded the chains of slavery for the “brain-chains” created through the left’s massive government welfare programs that have devastated the Black family. Black conservative and pastor, Jesse Lee Peterson says, “The democratic plantation really is worse than the plantation I grew up on.”
I’ve personally witnessed the left’s racial hypocrisy myself. I remember conducting a financial seminar at a community college in Connecticut in the 1990s. About half the people attending were people of color. I thought nothing of it, but I’ll never forget what the director (a white liberal) who hired me said, commenting that she was glad so many black people were attending. I thought, why would she even bring this up? It wasn’t her words that struck me in particular, but the condescending way in which she said it. She seemed to be implying that black people aren’t sophisticated enough to be interested in financial matters.
This liberal academic’s impression of black people is what I’ve seen from so many on the left over the years, saying they’re for Black advancement but tacitly treating them like ignorant children incapable of taking care of themselves without their help. That was 20 years ago, but it’s no different today with the left’s argument against voter IDs, because, obviously, people of color are too stupid to get a voter ID or vote like everyone else. This is what I mean about the left’s condescending bigotry. (Of course, their voting law argument is disingenuous for other reasons, too.)
So, don’t let these ivory tower elites project their own “white fragility” guilt issues on to you. Throw this facade, along with their long history of racism, back in their face.
What’s interesting is that I don’t even think that the average liberal even realizes this about themselves or their own political party. At best, their sense of compassion and justice has been maniputed by generations of race hustlers. So, it’s for their benefit that we expose this hypocrisy for them. 🙂
Great post, Mel! I like Zo, too.
Something that is really prominent in my mind, we have to have a Christian worldview, a belief that people were created in the image of God. Why is racism wrong? Because we all bear the image of God. How we treat others is how we treat Him. You cannot have a secular, atheistic ideology declaring “black lives matter” if we are all just bits of biological goo that spring forth from nothingness. That’s incoherent, it doesn’t tell us “why” any lives would matter at all! Might makes right becomes the only logical way to relate to such a world. Therefore selfishness, slavery, bullying, discrimination become justifiable, logical.
You make a very good point, IB. Slavery was fought by Christian abolitionists in the 18th and 19th century for the exact reasons you give. Everyone is created in the image of God, so enslaving another human being is wrong. Martin Luther King’s whole argument was based on Christian values–it’s not skin color but character matters. But when you deny God you lose your significance and intrinsic value as a human being and you cut your mooring for morality adrift.
Some have dubbed this the “cut flowers” phenomenon. When atheists and humanists first argued that society doesn’t need God to be moral, they were benefiting from a society that still had a residue of Christian or even just basic religious values. Even atheists grew up under these moral values, although they rejected the Source. But just like when you cut flowers that still may look alive for awhile, what looks alive is actually dead, and now we have two whole generations having grown up without an undergirding “belief in God” impacting their actions. The “cut flowers,” societially speaking, look quite dead now. So, now we have an increasingly larger swath of society that has run off the rails in selfish indulgence and in mean-spirited and intolerant behavior, casting aside any sense of reality. Add to that, social media has compounded and polarized the problem. Politically speaking, truth is relevant and replaced by power. There is no moral anchor, so anything goes, and who are you to question it. I remember having this very argument with humanists and atheists just a few years ago!
This is why even older liberals think these woke people are nuts! They still have this inherited mooring from a “God-based” society that doesn’t exist anymore. Now we find atheists, like James Lindsay, teaming up with evangelical Christians against this plague of woke insantity that’s been unleashed on society. But, like you said, if they were really honest, they would have to admit that there’s is no ultimate basis of morality to appeal to without God. As Dostoyevsky rightly said, “If there is no immortality, then all things are permitted.” Unfortunately, that’s what we’re seeing right now.
Excellent posts! What little of actual CRT academic literature I’ve read seems to be obsessed with looking at every institution…but the Political Party process! Its a striking omission given how Partisan politics shapes our policies! And making them eat crow is important. Good videos, especially with the first one. I saved that one
Thanks Jim. I don’t give the left a pass on this anymore. They need to stop projecting their issues on to us.
Speaking of the CRT literature, Delgado’s “Critical Race Theory: An Introduction” specifically states that they are building on the ideologies of radical feminists and known neo-Marxist activists.
“As the reader will see, critical race theory builds on the insights of two previous movements, critical legal studies and radical feminism, to both of which it owes a large debt. It also draws from certain European philosophers and theorists, such as Antonio Gramsci and Jacques Derrida, as well as from the American radical tradition exemplified by such figures as Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass, W.E.B. Du Bois, Cesar Chavez, Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Black Power and Chicano movements of the sixties and early seventies.” (p. 2, Source: https://jordaninstituteforfamilies.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Delgado_and_Stefancic_on_Critical_Race_Theory.pdf)
With the exception of Martin Luther King and Fredrick Douglass, these were all know neo-Marxist and Communist sympathizers.
CRT doesn’t really care about people of color or even racism, they care about taking the issue of racism to divide everyone into oppressors and the oppressed so that they can destroy the very foundation of our society through revolt. This is textbook Marxism.
Yep! I plan to write a post in the future as I’m going over the book
That’s great! Look forward to your review.
Good posts by the way as usual!!!
Happy new year to you Mel.
