Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke once said, “The devil is just a mouse with a microphone.” Jesus stripped him of his power on the cross. Now, the only authority he has is what we give him through the lies we believe. The same is true for tyranny. Oppressive regimes only have power when the people allow them to have it. And we allow it through ignorance and fear. But we also know what was meant for evil can be for our good (Gen.50:20), and that God works all things together for our good (Rom.8:28). So, in that hopeful light, I will share an op-ed piece from the Epoch Times that exposes what’s bringing us to the brink of tyranny, and then add my own insights on how we should respond.
This article is titled, “The American Oligarchy is being Exposed” by Brian Cates. I don’t think you have to be a subscriber to read it for yourself, but I will put some of the main points here, just in case.
Here’s how the article begins:
“One of the biggest impacts Trump has had on the country both as president and as a private citizen has been awakening millions of Americans to the very real danger of a media and political elite class that has been subverting Constitutional and legal processes in the states to increase their own power and control.”*
Cates goes on to define what an oligarchy is in the following:
“An oligarchy is defined by Britannica as being ‘government by the few, especially despotic power exercised by a small and privileged group for corrupt or selfish purposes. Oligarchies in which members of the ruling group are wealthy or exercise their power through their wealth are known as plutocracies.'”
When we look at the control and censorship of the Mainstream Media (MSM) and Big Tech, who are funded by the wealthiest globalist elites in the world, we can see that they fit the description of oligarchs and plutocrats.
Cates gives three specific attempts by this oligarchy to control the national dialogue both preceding, during, and then following the 2020 election.
1. The Hunter Biden Laptop
The MSM and Big Tech, and Joe Biden first dismissed it as Russian disinformation. Of course, we found out that this was pure fiction. Then we found how the media conducted a coordinated coverup of this scandal until after the election.
2. The Election Discussion
Next, the oligarchy used their considerable power over the societal narrative to prevent any discussion on election irregularities by engaging in a massive campaign of censorship. (I talked a lot about this here). The biggest censors were Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. They hired alleged “third-party fact checkers, who were anything but unbiased. Much of the “fact checkers” assertions of misinformation were later proved to be misinformation.
3. The Insurrection Narrative
Cates goes on to say that the oligarchy tried to launch a false narrative supposedly about an armed insurrection on the Capitol building on January 6, 2021. Since then, there has been absolutely no evidence of any such thing. Cates also points out in another article that there is no such thing as an unarmed insurrection in American history.
Of course, the unending destruction of our cities and anarchy perpetrated by the Antifa and BLM thugs goes on unchecked. The hypocricy of this narrative is beyond aburdity.
Cates also states what I’ve said before, that now we have these unelected plutocrats, having more power than the state over the social narrative:
“Nobody elected Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Jack Dorsey of Twitter, Sundar Pichai of Google, or any of these other social media technocrats to police the nation’s dialogue about politics—or anything else. They are self-appointed gatekeepers, nothing more than that.”
Finally, Cates said that the stakes couldn’t be higher. He points out that the the radical left knew exactly what they were doing, mentioning that “The shadow “cabal” using a Time Magazine article, trying to recast themselves as selfless public servants on a noble quest to “fortify” the 2020 presidential election against Donald Trump was far more revealing than they intended.” Their claim being that they had to rig the election against Trump to save the election.
What Should Our Response Be?
I wish I could say that all of this is just another “right-wing conspiracy,” but I know from my own research that it’s not. Much of this is now even admitted by the left. They’ve been enboldened by the last election and are no longer in the shadows; they’re running most of our institutions and government. But as scary as that is, it has also exposed them to an increasing number of people who were oblivious to their insidious plans before.
Our part is not to complain but fight against tyranny with the light of truth. And remember that the people who are brainwashed with these dangerous and destructive ideologies are our “Samaritans.” (See my post, “Loving Our Samaritans in 2021.”)
As Jesus told His combative disciples who wanted to call fire down on them, the people’s hearts are ripe for the harvest. We have the truth on our side. Our society is careening into chaos and the people are suffering and beginning to question this toxic narrative on both the political right and the left. But, more importantly, their hearts are opening to the Truth that will make them free. Our role is to love them like Jesus loves them, with grace as well as with the truth.
35 As the crowds emerged from the village, Jesus said to his disciples, “Why would you say, ‘The harvest is another four months away’? Look at all the people coming—now is harvest time! Their hearts are like vast fields of ripened grain—ready for a harvest. (John 4:35 TPT*)
