We had good friends of ours, Adam and Crissy Humburg, share a message at our service last Sunday that was unique and powerful, to say the least! Crissy did a devotional reading of the entire book of the Song of Songs, read from the Passion Translation, while Adam played his guitar. Too often we think of the word of God as an instruction book, and it is that, but it’s so much more.
The Word is a Person (John 1:1-2). And this Person is love (1 John 4:8). So we must learn how to encounter Him. All things we seek flow from this reality. For some of the deepest things we can ever know are better caught than taught.
Do you really know just how deeply God loves you? For He has written this love song of the ages to you. Let it echo in your heart. Here is just a small excerpt of how He sees you:
7 Every part of you is so beautiful, my darling.
Perfect is your beauty, without flaw within.
8 Now you are ready, my bride,
to come with me as we climb the highest peaks together.
Come with me through the archway of trust.
We will look down
from the crest of the glistening mounts
and from the summit of our sublime sanctuary.
Together we will wage war
in the lion’s den and the leopard’s lair
as they watch nightly for their prey.
9 For you reach into my heart.
With one flash of your eyes I am undone by your love,
my beloved, my equal, my bride.
You leave me breathless—
I am overcome
by merely a glance from your worshiping eyes,
for you have stolen my heart.
I am held hostage by your love
and by the graces of righteousness shining upon you. (Songs 4:7-9 TPT)
Can you receive the way God sees you? If it doesn’t leave you blushing and weak in the knees, you still haven’t fully tasted and seen His love for you.
I cannot begin to adequately describe the atmosphere in the room while they were ministering to us. And the audio clip below doesn’t do it justice. All I can do is invite you to take some time to stop what you’re doing and listen and soak in the Word made love. Be swept away, intoxicated, and overwhelmed in His delight for you. You’ll also hear a testimony of the tangible presence of God in the room as Adam and Crissy were sharing this anointed message.
Beloved, hear His heartbeat and receive Him…open your heart and learn how to be loved…and to love. You will never be the same.
TY:)
Wonderful, Mel. Very sweet worship. 🙂
Thanks. The recording doesn’t do it justice but it was a very special time. 🙂
