Azusa Now this Saturday!

azusanowUPDATE (04/11/16): If you missed this event, you can watch archived videos here. Also, here is a Revival Chat with Bill Johnson and Lou Engle about Azusa Now.

I want to make you aware of a significant event that is happening in Los Angeles tomorrow (Saturday, April 9th). This event is called “Azusa Now,” and it’s being held in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on the 110th anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival.

And the beautiful thing is, you don’t have to go to the coliseum to take part in this historic event! You can take part through live streaming on your computer or TV.

Here’s a blurb I received from Bethel.TV:

It’s been over a century since thousands gathered in Los Angeles to cry out for revival, and on April 9, a new generation of hungry believers will come together again to ask God for more. No matter where you are, we don’t want you to miss it!

This event will be streaming live on GodTV through the duration of the Azusa Now event on Saturday, April 9 from 7 AM to 10:30 PM (PDT) on Bethel.TV. (Please note this will only be available LIVE). Join us anytime throughout the day for powerful encounters with God through prayer and worship).

Lou Engle mentioned (in preview video below) that the Lord told him, “Lou, if it [TheCall] truly was a John the Baptist type movement, then you can bet that a Jesus movement is coming!” And, after three years of praying, the catalyst to this new Jesus movement just may be Azusa Now this Saturday!

I’m very excited about what God is up to here. I personally attended TheCall-Nashville (on 07/07/07), with about 80,000 others in Titan Stadium. That was a transformational event for me, one of the many encounters where God tattooed my heart (As I mentioned in my book, Sonshift, all of my tattoos are on the inside, inked on my heart from God!), so Lou Engle and TheCall have a very special place in my heart.

Lou also shares in the video about a prophetic dream a friend had, that “we can only fly united because only a united church can heal a divided nation….” (You need to hear the whole testimony on the video.) The church must unite, not just in America, but around the world, and I believe we’re living in that hour. God is sovereignly loving His divided Bride back together again…united in Him and for Him. After all, there’s only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism! (Eph.4:1-6). Maybe, we’re actually starting to believe that!

“I believe in the next year we will begin to see the greatest awakening that America has ever seen. And we won’t just talk about the past; we’ll talk about the future…a new Jesus Movement, a new Azusa Street…” (Lou Engle)

So, I invite you, if you’re not already going, to watch as much of this event as you can this Saturday. You can click on the links above to see how you can watch it. Let’s pray and worship together, united as beloved sons and daughters in our heavenly Papa’s global family, as Jesus takes center stage and makes His-story once again!

Reblogged this on The Postmodern Mystic and commented:
Just Imagine.. “where two or three are gathered”… and “asking in one accord”! This should be awesome.

  2. Yea, love Lou Engle and the Call. I was at the Call in Jerusalem in 2008, Mel. Thoroughly loved it. I’ve seen Lou at IHOP a few times, and I really do like him. Father defo uses him; he is gifted in mobilisation.

tbh, however, I am utterly fed up by looking backwards. The Kingdom is increasing, not decreasing. It’s the leven, it’s the rock that became a mountain that filled the whole earth. I honestly wish Christians in the West would realise that the whole planet is on fire for Father – all except those in the west.

There are more people being born-again, that people being born these days. Even Jesus himself said the fields are white for harvest – now.

All we need to do is open our eyes. Thoroughly convinced that if people would see with the eyes of their heart, that the so called “revival” they think is coming is all ready here. It started 2000 years ago and it’s never stopped since in my view.

And, in terms of awakening and an in-gathering of souls: if Christians would learn to ‘evangelise’ (hate that word) their families, just solely their families, then the whole planet would be Christain in about 30-40 years.

We need to repent for our unbelief – I’m including myself in that.

Peace & enjoy it! I will likely dial in on God TV, thankfully it is free in the UK.

Thanks John. I would agree with you on what is actually going on in the world today. It is we, in the religious deistic West, that need to be awakened! As you said, real, transformational Christianity is exploding around the world. Christianity is the fastest growing religion in the world. I’ve also taught for years about our traditional idea of “revival” being from an orphan mindset. We want Papa to come, like He isn’t already in us! How silly is that! It’s born out of our deeply-entrenched Christianized platonic dualism. It’s really more Old Testament than New Testament. I agree with Bill Johnson: we shouldn’t look at revival as an event, but as an everyday lifestyle. That’s actually normal Christianity. So, I’m on the same page with what you’re saying. Amen.

My “however” is that something different IS going on here. We’re not going back to “Azusa.” In many ways, that revival actually ended in failure and carnal divisiveness. But the seed was there…people coming together, fully loved, fully empowered, multi-ethnic (way before its time), people coming from every walk of life and “church” streams, being restored to the person and power of the Holy Spirit. But, while that was a seed, God is doing a MAJOR upgrade today! Divisions are falling, denominationalism is fading, we’re starting to see ourselves actually in Christ, which means, we see each other in Christ. So, we’re going forward because Christ’s goal for His church is to grow us up until we walk in the “unity of the faith” and the “unity of the Spirit” (Eph.4:1-7), which is NOT the same as trying to have a “spirit of unity” (ecumenicalism)..

If the Reformation was a baptism of Jesus (restoration of salvation by faith), and Azusa/Pentecost was a baptism of the Spirit (restoration of kingdom power, authority), then what’s been happening for the last 40 years is a baptism of the Father (love, restoration of sonship). We are now coming together, not as orphans, waiting for Papa to come down, but coming together, in unity, living from the Father’s embrace as sons and daughters. That’s very much looking forward and much bigger than what’s going on in the West right now. And not everybody’s there yet, we’re at the beginning of THIS kind of awakening and new reformation, but I’m excited. Sleeping Beauty is being kissed awake! 🙂

Btw, all the links I provided are free in the US, too. Blessings.

Ha ha – I’m on WP for first time in quite awhile and just left a comment on an earlier post of yours and mentioned Azusa Now. Guess word has gotten out 😄 And I whole heartedly agree with you when you say something different is going on with this. People keep praying “God do it again” and I keep saying “God do more – do something that has NEVER been done.” I really believe that is what He is going to do 👍 Never been more grateful to be a California girl!

    • Mel Wild says:

Yup. Lou Engle was in Madison a month or so ago. Lots of folks here are excited about what God’s up to. And, yes, not “do it again,” but “do more!” His kingdom is ever increasing and advancing, which means new and unprecedented. Would love to be able to be there, but I don’t miss the LA traffic (or the 5 hour flight to get to the traffic!). 🙂 Will be watching online and worshiping with you. Blessings.

  4. I know this might be a bit of a carnal analogy, but when you stated, “I agree with Bill Johnson: we shouldn’t look at revival as an event, but as an everyday lifestyle,” it reminds me of those that want to go on a diet to lose a bit of weight and they end up on a roller-coaster ride when in actuality it IS a lifestyle change needed.
I agree with you Pastor, the Holy Spirit IS awakening the Church, the foundation has been laid and now it is time to WALK in what our Heavenly Father meant for His Church from the beginning! I love the analogy that Sleeping Beauty is being kissed awake! AMEN and AMEN!

    • Mel Wild says:

Yes, it is like a diet vs. a lifestyle. Dieting is unnatural, temporarily leaving bad eating habits, then the roller coaster. The lifestyle is eating the right things as a normal lifestyle. That’s what the Spirit is doing. Waking us up to the right way to see ourselves and walking in Christ’s life. Good analogy! Blessings.
