A safe place in Daddy’s embrace

LovedHere’s another brilliant message from my wife, Maureen. This is an audio recording from our time of worship on Father’s Day Sunday.

To put what she said in context, the clip starts with the end of “The More I Seek You.” during our worship time.

Here are the words being sung…

I wanna sit at Your feet
Drink from the cup in Your hand
Lay back against You and breathe
Feel Your heart beat
This love is so deep
It’s more than I can stand
I melt in Your peace
It’s overwhelming

We add the words at the end… (Thank you, Steffany Frizzell)…

You can love me more in a moment
Than other lovers could in a lifetime

Maureen then shares what the Lord showed her about the relationship between a loving earthly father (like the one she had) and the relationship with our heavenly Father. How, like with earthly children in a loving family, we were birthed in love! She relates how we were loved before we even knew we had a father. And when we begin to know this, we return that love back to him. Here’s an excerpt…

Maureen_train“Think about the child with the father, sitting on the daddy’s lap. Whatever the dad’s drinking, they want a sip of it. They just want to have what daddy has. They want to lay back against him–when they get scared from other people, they lay back against dad and they’re safe and they feel his heartbeat. And that kind of love is so deep and so overwhelming–daddy’s the safe place.”

Maureen also beautifully illustrates how we relate to this love through each stage of our growth in Christ and with our siblings in Christ. And how He’s always there for us and how we mature in that love. Here’s another quote…

“…And then we start to mature, we start to have our own children. And we understand how much Daddy really loves us…when I had kids, I realized how much God must love me when I realized how much I love my own kids. And so we start to understand that kind of love, and we mature in that. And Daddy is always there. And you go back to Him for the wisdom and the help that you need, and the courage to step out…”

You can hear the rest on the clip. It’s definitely worth the listen.

Beloved, as Maureen said in the clip, this is where you are. You may be like me and didn’t have a loving father like Maureen did. But you do now! You have a perfect Father, and He loves you with a Father’s love. You are in Daddy’s embrace right now. He will never leave you or give up on you. You are loved. You are safe. Feel His embrace, let Him love you. Let all your troubles and fears melt in His arms of love.

Please take a few minutes to listen to the recording and be blessed in your heavenly Father’s warm embrace. Lay back against Him and feel His heartbeat. It’s a safe place.

Amen. Good stuff. Really the very safest and very best place to be. So good to just breathe and lean into Him again (and again and again …) Your wife really does need to do guest blog or two soon 🙂 But in the meantime, nice that you can share some of the nuggets she gleans from the Father’s heart. Blessings!

Yes, she does. She’s a great writer and has an awesome revelation of the Father’s love and about relationships in general. I will keep pestering her to write something. 🙂
