Our fascination with God means intimidation for the enemy

Osmar Schindler “David und Goliath”

Beloved, hear the Father’s heart for you today. He meant for you to live His overcoming life in the Spirit.

And this overcoming life is found in the heart of intimacy.

In fact, intimacy with God is your most powerful weapon against the enemy of your soul…or anything else in this world.

This was David’s greatest weapon. For it was from this place of intimacy that he ran at his giants. Because He knew–experientially–that He who was with Him was much greater than anything that could ever come against him.

David believed God because he knew Him, and this was because his heart was captured by Him and fascinated with Him.

Beloved, do you understand that this same One is not only with you, but He lives in you? That He who is in you is greater than anything you will ever face in this world? (1 John 4:4) And that He has not given you a spirit of fear, but one of power, love and a sound mind (2 Tim.1:7).

Do you actually believe this?

And do you understand that the reason for defeat, living like a victim in fear, living a life of doubts instead of faith…is due primarily to a lack of intimacy?

For our problem is that we don’t know what we don’t know, so we don’t value intimacy. We make other things–even good things, godly things–more important.

You need an upgrade. We all do. And this upgrade can only come by way of revelation. That the eyes of our heart would be enlightened so that we would know just who we are in Him. Let the Spirit open your eyes to this truth. And this truth is that Christ has been raised far above all principalities and powers in the heavenly realm and the earthly one…and you are in Him. This is where the real you lives. You have been raised with Him (Eph.1:18-2:6).

And who do you think doesn’t want you to know this?

Right, the evil one–that deceiver, that accuser–he’s like a crooked lawyer who sees if we know (or believe) who we really are, and if we don’t, takes advantage of us by making us victims of His lies, thereby robbing us of our rich inheritance in Christ.

And some of his most powerful lies are religious lies.

But that’s not your destiny, beloved of God. You were predestined to awaken from your spiritual slumber and take your rightful place as sons and daughters of the Most High God.

Your eyes are to be trained to see through HIS eyes–from heaven to earth. And your fascination with His beauty, His majesty, His splendor and glory will be the evil one’s undoing in your life.

It’s time to turn the tables on the accuser and rise up to your place of rest in Christ. For He is undefeated, and His life is now your life.

Take a few minutes to soak in the words below from the Father’s heart and read them with fresh eyes of faith. Let them permeate your being and encourage your soul. You are loved.

“I want you to become so fascinated by My love for you that you are never intimidated by the evil one.
You have my blessing and permission to make the enemy confused.
I anoint you to weary him by your rest.
I appoint you to discourage him by your faith.
I empower you to demoralize him with your joy.
I refresh you so that he is depressed by your endurance.
I commit all that I Am to you, so that the enemy becomes dispirited by your favor.
I embrace you in all that you are not, and all that you may become, so that the enemy is defeated by your grace.
Be refreshed.
Receive My mindset in these matters and be renewed in the spirit of your mind!”

Yes, yes, yes, and yes! A thousand times, YES! Oh that we would grasp and truly rest in this incredibly simple, yet profound truth. Thanks for continuing to point us back to His heart.

You’re welcome and I amen all those yes’s and add a few more. 🙂
What always strikes me as profoundly ironic about this whole thing about intimacy is that the very thing that would unlock people’s hearts and give them a fulfilling and overcoming life is the very thing the church as a whole seems to value the least. We have relegated this to the “mystics” and those we think are “navel gazers.” But our intimacy with the Father was absolutely central to Jesus’ life and ministry and should be central to ours too. It’s the difference between living like orphans and living like sons.
As always, thanks for your encouraging comments. Blessings.
