“What conclusion do you come to as a result of believing those guilty feelings that plague you? Don’t they tell you it is too late and that all is lost? Or that God gave you a chance to be different, but you blew the opportunity? The bottom line is that they threaten you with the most horrific and grievous possibility your soul can imagine: God gives up on you. Your panic and grief, your worry and anguish about possibly losing your relationship with God is the best proof that you have not.
Can someone throw away his or her relationship with God by choosing to no longer have faith? Yes, I believe that’s possible. But denying Christ for all eternity is the consequence of unbelief, not misbehavior. We don’t lose our salvation because of the sins we commit. You and I stand by our faith and we have been grafted in among God’s people because we believe that through Jesus’ death on the Cross, Christ atoned for our sins (Rom.11:17). Our standing is not due to sinlessness, so sinfulness cannot cut salvation out from under us.”

This is why when we say that God would never accept us, or it’s too late, we are believing a lie.
